Blog Post 1: Topic Interests
Hello Everyone! I decided for my capstone class to analyze if gender impacts the language and word choice used when comparing female sports versus male sports. I am planning on using interviews, broadcasts, press releases, and social media posts as my primary sources for this research. I will be looking at frequency of various words or phrases. I am also considering how this research translates to the corporate world in the sense if gender impacts language used in business meetings, emails, and other forms of communication. I am excited for this class to help guide me through the research aspect because it can be daunting to begin a new research project.
